Job Description
Pay Structure
Salary shall be paid in accordance with the State Pay Matrix for trained graduate teachers (Entry Level Cell), with annual increments as prescribed by the State Education Department. The gross monthly salary shall be composed of:
1. Basic pay as per State Pay Matrix Entry Level Cell.
2. Dearness Allowance (DA) at the prevailing State Government rate.
3. House Rent Allowance (HRA) at 8% of basic pay for rural postings.
4. Travel Allowance (TA) for official travel within the district at approved rates.
5. A one-time joining bonus of INR 5,000 for teachers relocating to rural areas.
6. Annual performance-linked incentive (PLI) up to 10% of basic pay, subject to satisfactory annual evaluation.
7. Reimbursement of up to INR 3,000 per annum for professional development courses or resource material acquisition, upon submission of receipts and prior approval.
Resources Available
1. Classroom Facilities: Each classroom shall be equipped with a blackboard/whiteboard, ceiling fans, LED lighting, and adequate seating for 40 students.
2. Teaching Aids: Digital projector with laptop, portable speaker system, and access to a central digital repository of English language resources curated by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT).
3. Library Access: Unlimited access to the school library, which contains graded English readers, supplementary readers, grammar workbooks, and reference materials for teachers.
4. Stationery: Annual allocation of INR 2,000 per classroom for replenishing essential teaching materials such as flashcards, charts, and worksheets.
5. Technology Support: High-speed broadband internet connectivity (minimum 40 Mbps) and a dedicated computer with licensed educational software for English language instruction.
6. Administrative Support: Full-time administrative staff to assist with attendance records, assessment data entry, and coordination with parents.
7. Professional Development: Annual in-service training programs conducted by SCERT or DIET, including workshops on communicative English teaching, inclusive pedagogy, and digital literacy.

Job Overview
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in English or Education from a recognized university.
- Two years of full-time teaching experience in English at the primary level (Grades 1–5).
- Proficiency in spoken and written English (C1 level or equivalent).
- Willingness to reside in a rural area and adapt to local cultural and social norms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postgraduate degree in English or Education.
- Certification in English language teaching (e.g., CELTA, TESOL, or equivalent).
- Experience in teaching English in multilingual classrooms.
- Familiarity with child-centered and activity-based learning methodologies.
- Prior experience in rural or underserved educational settings.
Performance Expectations
The Primary Resource Teacher (PRT) – English shall be evaluated annually based on the following criteria, weighted as follows:
1. Classroom Instruction (30%):
- Implementation of the prescribed English curriculum (as per State Board syllabus).
- Use of innovative and inclusive teaching strategies to enhance student engagement.
- Effective classroom management and student discipline.
- Regular lesson planning and alignment with learning outcomes.
- Use of digital tools and resources to support instruction.
2. Student Assessment and Progress (25%):
- Timely and accurate assessment of student learning through formative and summative evaluations.
- Maintenance of comprehensive records of student performance.
- Identification and support of students with learning difficulties or special needs.
- Analysis of assessment data to inform instructional planning.
3. Professional Development (15%):
- Participation in mandatory in-service training programs.
- Engagement in self-directed learning and professional growth activities.
- Sharing of best practices with colleagues and mentoring junior teachers.
- Contribution to school-wide professional development initiatives.
4. Community and Parent Engagement (15%):
- Regular communication with parents regarding student progress.
- Organization of parent-teacher meetings and workshops.
- Collaboration with local community organizations to promote English language learning.
- Involvement in school events and extracurricular activities.
5. Administrative and Compliance (15%):
- Adherence to school policies, including attendance, punctuality, and dress code.
- Timely submission of lesson plans, attendance registers, and assessment reports.
- Compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including child protection policies.
- Maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records as required by the State Education Department.
Annual evaluations shall be conducted by the Head of the Institution in consultation with the School Management Committee. Teachers shall receive written feedback, including areas of strength and areas for improvement, along with a performance rating (Outstanding, Satisfactory, Needs Improvement). Unsatisfactory performance shall trigger a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) with clear benchmarks and timelines for improvement.
Salary and Compensation Breakdown (Annual)
1. Basic Pay: INR 3,50,000 (as per State Pay Matrix Entry Level Cell).
2. Dearness Allowance: INR 70,000 (20% of basic pay).
3. House Rent Allowance: INR 28,000 (8% of basic pay).
4. Travel Allowance: INR 12,000 (INR 1,000 per month).
5. Joining Bonus: INR 5,000 (one-time).
6. Performance-Linked Incentive: Up to INR 35,000 (10% of basic pay, conditional).
7. Professional Development Reimbursement: INR 3,000.
8. Accommodation Subsidy (if applicable): INR 18,000 (INR 1,500 per month).
9. Other Benefits: Provident Fund contribution (12% of basic pay), gratuity as per applicable laws, and health insurance coverage for the teacher and dependents (up to INR 50,000 per annum).
