Position Overview
The TGT Physical Education Teacher will teach physical education to students in grades 6-8 in a rural school setting. The teacher must hold a postgraduate degree in Physical Education or a related field and have at least 2 years of teaching experience. While a Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) certification is not required, relevant certifications in physical education or sports coaching are preferred.
Workplace Environment
The school operates with an average student-teacher ratio of 25:1. Physical education classes typically include 25-30 students per session. The teacher will conduct classes in an outdoor sports field, indoor gymnasium, and other designated areas for physical activities. The school follows a structured daily schedule, with physical education classes held for 45 minutes per session, 5 days a week.
Primary Duties
Plan and deliver engaging physical education lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and national physical education standards.
Teach students fundamental motor skills, team sports, individual sports, and fitness activities.
Organize and supervise intramural and inter-school sports competitions, including track and field events, basketball, volleyball, and cricket.
Conduct fitness assessments twice a year to measure students’ physical fitness levels, including BMI, flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular endurance.
Promote physical fitness, healthy lifestyle choices, and sportsmanship among students.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progress in physical education.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate physical activity into school-wide health initiatives.
Ensure the safety and well-being of students during physical activities and sports.
Prepare students for state and district-level sports competitions.
Measurable Outcomes
At least 80% of students will demonstrate improvement in fitness test scores (e.g., 50-meter dash, sit-ups, shuttle run) by the end of the academic year.
At least 70% of students will participate in at least one intramural or inter-school sports competition during the year.
95% of students will achieve a minimum of 75% attendance in physical education classes.
At least 60% of students will show improvement in body mass index (BMI) or maintain a healthy BMI range over the academic year.
All students will demonstrate knowledge of basic sports rules, techniques, and safety procedures by the end of the course.
Performance Expectations (KPIs and Targets)
Student Performance: Improve average fitness scores by 15% across all classes within the academic year.
Participation Rates: Achieve at least 85% student participation in school-organized sports events.
Safety Compliance: Maintain a 100% safety record with zero major injuries during physical education classes and sports activities.
Curriculum Coverage: Complete 100% of the prescribed physical education curriculum as per the school calendar.
Professional Development: Attend at least 2 professional development workshops or training sessions related to physical education and sports annually.
Parent and Community Engagement: Organize at least 2 community sports events or parent-teacher interactions focused on physical fitness per academic year.

Salary and Compensation
The salary for this position ranges from INR 25,000 to INR 40,000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience.
Additional allowances may include travel reimbursement, sports equipment allowance, and performance-based bonuses.
The position includes 12 days of paid leave per academic year, in addition to national holidays and school vacations.
