Classroom Profile
You will handle classes IX to XII, with students aged 14 to 18 who come from varied academic backgrounds but share a curiosity about their surroundings. Each class typically has 35 to 40 students, and your role includes guiding them through NCERT and state syllabi while preparing them for board exams and competitive tests. Your teaching must balance theory with field-based learning, using local examples to explain concepts like monsoon patterns, soil types, and urbanization in Sikar district.
Day-to-Day Duties
Prepare structured lesson plans aligned with CBSE and state curriculum, ensuring coverage of Physical, Human, and Practical Geography for Classes XI and XII.
Conduct interactive lectures using charts, models, and digital tools like Google Earth to explain landforms and resource distribution.
Organize periodic map-reading drills and quiz sessions to strengthen students’ spatial skills and exam readiness.
Coordinate with the Social Science department to plan inter-disciplinary projects, such as a study of water conservation in Sikar villages.
Assess students through unit tests, assignments, and practical notebook evaluations, providing timely feedback.
Guide students in preparing for Geography Olympiad and other competitive exams with focused practice sessions.
Maintain classroom discipline while fostering curiosity, encouraging students to question and connect local issues to global themes.
Who Can Apply
Postgraduate in Geography with a minimum of three years of teaching experience in a secondary or senior secondary school. B.Ed or D.El.Ed is mandatory; TET or CTET will be an added advantage. Candidates familiar with CBSE Geography syllabus and those who have handled Classes XI-XII will be preferred. Exposure to student mentorship or field-based teaching in Rajasthan is desirable.
