Role Summary
The TGT English Teacher will deliver engaging, standards-aligned English language arts instruction to grades 6–8, leveraging digital tools and EdTech resources to enhance literacy development, critical thinking, and digital citizenship. The role emphasizes blended learning strategies, adaptive platforms, and data-driven instruction to meet diverse learner needs in a Tier 3 school environment.
Key Responsibilities (Digital Tools and Platforms)
Design and deliver interactive English lessons using Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, and Seesaw for assignment distribution, feedback, and collaboration.
Integrate adaptive learning tools such as Lexia Core5 and Achieve3000 to personalize reading instruction and track student progress.
Use Nearpod, Pear Deck, and Canva for interactive presentations and formative assessments.
Facilitate virtual book clubs and writing workshops using Flip (formerly Flipgrid) and Padlet for multimedia student responses.
Monitor student engagement and performance through learning analytics on platforms like Edmodo and Skooler.
Conduct regular digital literacy lessons covering online research, source evaluation, and responsible use of AI tools.
Collaborate with the school’s IT coordinator to troubleshoot and optimize classroom technology.
Maintain digital gradebooks and attendance records using School ERP or similar platforms.
Attend monthly EdTech professional development sessions and share best practices with colleagues.
Learner Demographics (Tech Implementation)
Students in grades 6–8 come from diverse linguistic and socioeconomic backgrounds, with varying levels of English proficiency and digital access.
Tech implementation focuses on closing literacy gaps through differentiated instruction using adaptive software and multilingual support tools.
1:1 device program ensures all students have access to Chromebooks or tablets for in-class and home learning.
Parental engagement is supported through SMS updates, parent portals, and virtual parent-teacher conferences via Zoom or Google Meet.
Preferred Skills
Proficiency in Google Workspace for Education and Microsoft 365.
Experience using learning management systems (LMS) and student information systems (SIS).
Familiarity with assistive technologies such as speech-to-text tools and screen readers.
Strong digital citizenship and online safety awareness.

Success Metrics (Specific Software/Tools)
Student growth in Lexile measures using Achieve3000 and Lexia Core5.
Improvement in writing proficiency as measured by standardized rubrics and digital portfolio assessments in Seesaw.
Engagement rates in virtual discussions and multimedia assignments on Flip and Padlet.
Parent satisfaction scores related to communication and transparency via digital tools.
Teacher use of data dashboards (e.g., Google Data Studio) to inform instruction.
