Role Summary

The position requires a postgraduate degree in Economics with a B.Ed and three years of teaching experience in the subject. The teacher will prepare students for board exams and competitive tests with a strong conceptual foundation. Classroom management and student engagement are key priorities. The role also includes participation in school events and parent-teacher interactions.

Day-to-Day Duties

1. Plan and deliver Economics lessons for Grades 11 and 12 as per CBSE curriculum.
2. Prepare detailed lesson plans with real-life examples and case studies from Indian and global economies.
3. Conduct regular assessments including unit tests, mock exams, and project evaluations.
4. Maintain student records, attendance, and academic progress in the school ERP system.
5. Organize Economics fairs, debates, and quizzes to enhance learning interest.
6. Guide students in choosing Economics as a subject for higher studies and competitive exams.
7. Collaborate with other subject teachers to plan interdisciplinary projects.
8. Attend staff meetings, training programs, and curriculum review sessions.
9. Participate in school functions, sports events, and cultural activities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Must Have
- Postgraduate degree in Economics (M.A./M.Sc) from a recognized university
- B.Ed degree from a NCTE-recognized institution
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in Economics at the senior secondary level
- Fluency in English and Tamil; knowledge of Hindi is an added advantage
- Experience with CBSE curriculum and examination patterns

Good to Have
- D.El.Ed for senior secondary teaching (considered equivalent to B.Ed in some contexts)
- TET or CTET certification
- Prior experience in an ICSE or state board school in Tamilnadu
- Familiarity with digital teaching tools and smart classrooms

Preferred Skills

- Strong communication and presentation skills in both English and Tamil
- Ability to simplify complex economic theories for high school students
- Experience in designing question papers and marking schemes
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Google Classroom, and online quiz platforms
