Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging philosophy lessons that cater to students from Class 11 to 12, fostering critical thinking and ethical reasoning. Develop lesson plans that integrate contemporary philosophical theories while keeping them relevant to students’ daily lives and academic growth. Assess student progress through continuous evaluation, ensuring they grasp complex ideas through practical examples and discussions.
Teach core philosophy subjects like ethics, metaphysics, and epistemology, ensuring students understand real-world applications. Collaborate with the philosophy department to refine syllabi and teaching methods, aligning with Billabong High International School’s focus on holistic education. Maintain discipline and create a respectful learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore philosophical ideas freely.
Prepare and grade assignments, exams, and projects to evaluate students’ understanding of philosophical concepts accurately. Participate in departmental meetings and curriculum reviews to ensure philosophy teaching remains up-to-date with educational trends. Act as a mentor to students, guiding them through philosophical debates and discussions that strengthen their analytical skills.
Qualification
A postgraduate degree in Philosophy with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification is essential for this role. Candidates with a strong academic background in philosophy and a passion for teaching will be preferred. Experience in teaching philosophy at the secondary level is highly beneficial.
Experience
The ideal candidate should have at least two years of teaching experience in philosophy or related subjects. Familiarity with CBSE or state board curriculum guidelines will be an advantage. Salary and Employment Type
