About This Role
As Mahatma Schools continues to grow and expand its Ibpyp curriculum, we are looking for an experienced Ibpyp Social Science Teacher to join our team in Madrai East, Madurai, Tamilnadu. This is a senior role that requires a strong track record in teaching and curriculum leadership, with a passion for Social Science and a commitment to the Ibpyp approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Social Science lessons to Ibpyp students, using a range of teaching methods and materials to cater to different learning styles.
- Develop and implement curriculum plans and assessments for Social Science, ensuring alignment with Ibpyp standards and expectations.
- Coach students for board exams, using targeted support and intervention to help them achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement whole-school initiatives and strategies for improving Social Science teaching and learning.
- Participate in school-wide activities and events, such as parent-teacher meetings and cultural festivals, to promote Social Science learning and engagement.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and research in Social Science education, and share knowledge and expertise with colleagues.
- Contribute to the development of new resources and materials for Social Science teaching, including textbooks, worksheets, and multimedia content.
- Participate in school-wide quality assurance and improvement initiatives, including monitoring and evaluation, to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
- Take on additional responsibilities and leadership roles within the school, as needed.
Required Qualifications
- A strong academic background, with a minimum of a Master's degree (M.A.) or M.Sc. in Social Science or a related field.
- A valid B.Ed. degree or equivalent teaching qualification.
- A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, with a proven track record of success in teaching Social Science to students aged 11-14.
- Preferably, a valid TET or CTET qualification, although not essential.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Ibpyp curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
