About This Role
Ssm Central Senior Secondary School in Namakkal, Tamilnadu invites applications for a dynamic and experienced Career Counsellor to join our leadership team. As a Career Counsellor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding students towards their academic and professional goals, while also supporting the school administration in policy-making and decision-making processes.
Your primary focus will be on providing career guidance and counselling to students, while also collaborating with teachers and administrators to develop and implement career-related programs and activities. You will work closely with the school administration to ensure that students have access to relevant information and resources to make informed decisions about their future.
What You Will Do
- Provide career guidance and counselling to students, helping them to identify their strengths and interests, and develop career goals and plans.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop and implement career-related programs and activities, such as career fairs, workshops, and mentorship programs.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities in various fields, and provide recommendations to students and school administrators.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external organizations and professionals to provide students with opportunities for internships, job shadowing, and job placement.
- Support the school administration in policy-making and decision-making processes related to student career development and school governance.
- Develop and implement systems and processes to track student career outcomes and progress.
- Provide support and guidance to teachers and administrators on career-related issues and policies.
- Develop and maintain a network of professionals and organizations to provide students with access to job opportunities and resources.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop and implement career-related curriculum and programs.
- Provide support and guidance to students who are transitioning from school to college or the workforce.
Required Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree in Counselling, Education, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in career counselling, guidance, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of career development principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
