Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) in Home Science to join our inclusive rural school community. Key Responsibilities
Teach Home Science to students in grades 9–12, aligning lessons with the school curriculum and national educational standards while integrating inclusive teaching strategies.
Design and deliver differentiated instruction that meets the needs of diverse learners, including students with disabilities, English language learners, and those from marginalized communities.
Create an accessible and welcoming classroom environment that respects and values cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic diversity.
Develop and adapt teaching materials, resources, and assessments to ensure relevance and accessibility for all students, including those from rural backgrounds with limited prior exposure to certain concepts.
Incorporate real-life applications of Home Science—such as nutrition, textiles, child development, and resource management—to make learning meaningful and engaging for students from varied life experiences.
Collaborate with school counselors, special educators, and community stakeholders to identify and address barriers to learning, ensuring equal participation for all students.
Use formative and summative assessments to monitor progress, provide constructive feedback, and support continuous improvement for every learner.
Participate in professional development opportunities focused on inclusive education, rural pedagogy, and culturally responsive teaching.
Engage with parents and caregivers through regular communication, workshops, and home-based learning activities to promote continuity of learning and community involvement.
Promote gender sensitivity, equity, and social justice through classroom discussions and curriculum content, challenging stereotypes in family roles, careers, and lifestyle choices.

Minimum Requirements
Postgraduate degree in Home Science, Human Development, Family Studies, or a related field from a recognized university.
Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience (preferably in secondary or senior secondary education) or equivalent experience in community education, vocational training, or extension services.
Valid government-issued teaching certification or eligibility for state teacher certification (if applicable).
Willingness to reside in or near the rural community and engage actively in school and community life.
Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education and equity in learning outcomes.

KPIs and Outcomes (Diversity and Inclusion Competencies)
Student performance: 80% of Home Science students achieve grade-level competencies or show measurable improvement in practical skills and theoretical understanding, with no significant achievement gaps between student subgroups (e.g., gender, disability, caste, or socioeconomic status).
Inclusion index: 100% of lessons include differentiated strategies to support diverse learners, and classroom observations confirm inclusive engagement of all students.
Parent and community engagement: At least 70% of parents participate in at least one school-home partnership activity per semester related to Home Science learning.
Resource equity: 90% of teaching materials used in the classroom are accessible, gender-sensitive, and culturally relevant to the student population.
Professional growth: Participation in at least two inclusive education training sessions annually, with evidence of application in classroom practice.
Student feedback: 95% of students report feeling respected, included, and supported in the classroom environment through anonymous surveys conducted twice a year.
