PRT Music Teacher Job Description
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and qualified PRT Music teacher to join our team at a Tier 4 general school. The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate qualification in music education and at least one year of teaching experience.
Primary Duties
- Teach music to students of various age groups and skill levels
- Plan and deliver engaging music lessons that cater to diverse learning styles
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Collaborate with other teachers to develop a comprehensive music program
Teaching Methodology (Specialized approaches)
- We are looking for a teacher who can incorporate specialized approaches such as Kodaly, Orff, or Dalcroze into their teaching practice
- Experience with technology-based music education tools and apps is an added advantage
- Ability to teach music theory, history, and appreciation
Performance Expectations
- Teach a minimum of 20 hours per week
- Prepare and conduct assemblies, concerts, and other music events
- Maintain a well-organized and student-centered classroom environment
Professional Development (Niche requirements)
- Postgraduate qualification in music education or a related field
- At least one year of teaching experience in a similar setting
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members
- Strong commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on best practices in music education
Facilities (Specialized equipment)
- Our school is equipped with a well-maintained music room with a piano, guitars, and other instruments
- Access to a sound system and recording equipment
