About Good Shepherd Matric Hr Sec School

Welcome to Good Shepherd Matriculation Higher Secondary School, tucked just off the Ambai‑Tenkasi Road near Alwarkurichi in Tenkasi District. Our campus sits at 283/1A (and 174) on a stretch that offers a clear view of the Western Ghats foothills, so every morning feels a little brighter. The grounds are kept tidy and secure, and the air carries the faint scent of eucalyptus that makes the walk to class feel pleasant rather than routine.

Our students come from the surrounding villages and towns, ranging from the curious toddlers in our preschool to the ambitious youngsters preparing for their Higher Secondary exams. We follow the Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education, which gives us a solid framework while still allowing teachers the freedom to bring fresh ideas into the classroom. The academic atmosphere is lively; you’ll hear lively debates in the science lab, quiet concentration in the library, and the occasional burst of laughter during group projects. We value effort and curiosity, and we encourage every child to find their own way to understand the subjects they study.

Teaching here means you get to step beyond textbooks as often as you like. Our students participate in karate, yoga, Bharatanatyam, silambam, archery, chess, music and art, so you’ll find plenty of opportunities to collaborate with the extracurricular teams or simply watch a class perform a dance routine after a math lesson. The community is close‑knit, with parents who respect the work we do and colleagues who are ready to share resources or a cup of tea after a long day. If you’re looking for a place where you can grow professionally while being part of a supportive, vibrant environment, Good Shepherd offers a setting where teaching
