Your Students
You will teach Geography to students in grades 9 to 12 who are preparing for board exams and competitive entrance tests. Many of them live in and around Namapally, so local case studies like the Musi River pollution or Hyderabad’s IT corridor expansion can become powerful teaching tools. Your lessons should help them see Geography not as a subject to memorise but as a lens to understand their city and world.
What You Will Do
Create engaging lesson plans that cover physical and human Geography for Classes 9–12 as per the CBSE curriculum. Use maps, field trips within Hyderabad, and digital tools to make lessons interactive. Organise debates on topics like water scarcity in Telangana or urbanisation challenges in the city.
Assess students regularly through projects, quizzes, and model exams to track progress without overloading them. Provide individual feedback during weekly doubt-clearing sessions to address specific gaps in understanding.
Collaborate with the Social Science department at Akshara International School to plan interdisciplinary projects, such as linking Geography with History or Environmental Science. Attend monthly subject meetings to align teaching strategies across grades.
Participate in school events like Geography Week, where students present on topics like monsoon patterns or mineral distribution in India. Mentor students preparing for Olympiads or NTSE by guiding their project work on regional Geography.
What You Get

Required Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in Geography with a minimum of three years of teaching experience in a secondary or senior secondary school. B.Ed or D.El.Ed is mandatory. TET or CTET is preferred but not essential for this role.
