Role Summary

Sanctus World School in Samshabad, Ranga Reddy, Telangana seeks a Chemistry Head of Department to lead the Chemistry department with administrative and academic oversight. The Chemistry Hod will oversee curriculum planning, resource management, and team coordination for Classes 6 to 12. This role demands strong leadership, operational planning, and collaboration with school leadership to enhance departmental performance.

Day-to-Day Duties

1. Head the Chemistry department, ensuring alignment with CBSE/ICSE standards and school academic goals.
2. Develop annual academic plans, unit breakdowns, and assessment schedules for Chemistry across grades.
3. Manage laboratory resources, equipment procurement, safety protocols, and inventory tracking.
4. Lead faculty recruitment, induction, performance reviews, and professional development initiatives.
5. Coordinate parent-teacher interactions focused on student progress in Chemistry.
6. Organize inter-school competitions, Olympiads, and Chemistry-related events in collaboration with the school events team.
7. Monitor student performance data, identify trends, and recommend corrective academic measures.
8. Represent the department in school management meetings and academic audits.

Eligibility Criteria

Postgraduate degree in Chemistry with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in school Chemistry department leadership. B.Ed or D.El.Ed is mandatory. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital teaching aids is required. Prior experience in CBSE or ICSE schools is preferred.

Preferred Skills

Strong knowledge of Chemistry curriculum design and assessment frameworks. Experience in laboratory management and safety compliance. Excellent communication skills for faculty and parent coordination. Ability to mentor junior faculty and lead departmental initiatives effectively.

Salary and Benefits
