Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teacher-training qualification is mandatory.
A minimum of one year of classroom teaching experience in Telugu at the secondary or senior secondary level is required.
Candidates who have cleared the Telugu language paper in the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by any state or central authority will be preferred, though this is not mandatory.

Student Profile (Diverse Learner Needs)

The school enrols students from diverse socio-economic, cultural, linguistic and learning backgrounds, including students with mild to moderate learning differences, gifted learners, and English language learners.
The Telugu PGT will teach students in grades 9–12 whose first language may be Telugu, Hindi, English or another Indian language.
The teacher must be prepared to differentiate instruction using visual, auditory, kinaesthetic and tactile modalities to meet varied academic, linguistic and socio-emotional needs.
The role involves collaborating with special educators, counsellors and parents to implement Individualised Learning Plans (ILPs) and Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) where required.

Campus Facilities (Inclusive Practices)

The school campus is fully accessible with ramps, lifts, tactile pathways, accessible washrooms and ergonomic furniture.
Digital classrooms equipped with interactive whiteboards, audio systems and captioning tools support inclusive pedagogy.
A well-resourced inclusive education centre provides assistive technologies, adapted learning materials and sensory tools.
The library maintains a diverse collection of Telugu literature, regional texts and multilingual resources to reflect student identities.
Regular professional development sessions on universal design for learning (UDL), differentiated instruction and trauma-informed practices are offered to all staff.

Primary Duties

Plan and deliver engaging Telugu language and literature lessons aligned with the CBSE/State curriculum for grades 9–12.
Assess and evaluate student progress using formative and summative assessments, including oral, written and project-based tasks.
Differentiate instruction to accommodate students with diverse learning needs, including those with dyslexia, ADHD or mild intellectual challenges.
Incorporate culturally responsive teaching by integrating Telugu folklore, poetry, drama and regional literature into the curriculum.
Promote gender sensitivity, inclusivity and respect for diverse identities through classroom discussions, literature choices and co-curricular activities.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, lesson plans, assessments and Individualised Learning Plans.
Communicate regularly with parents through progress reports, parent-teacher meetings and digital platforms in English and Telugu.
Participate in school-wide inclusive events such as cultural fairs, literary festivals and awareness campaigns.
Collaborate with the school’s inclusion team to review and update IEPs and ILPs for students with special needs.
Uphold the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.

Role Summary (Diversity and Inclusion Competencies)

The Telugu PGT will champion an inclusive classroom where every student, regardless of linguistic background, learning style or personal identity, feels valued and capable of success.
The role demands strong interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with students, parents and colleagues from varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
The teacher must demonstrate cultural humility, empathy and a commitment to equitable outcomes for all learners.
Fluency in Telugu and English is essential; knowledge of Urdu or other regional languages is desirable but not required.
The position requires a proactive stance on addressing unconscious bias, micro-aggressions and systemic barriers within the curriculum and school environment.

Professional Development

Attend mandatory induction on inclusive education, UDL and differentiated instruction during the first month of employment.
Participate in at least two professional development workshops per academic year focused on Telugu pedagogy, multilingual education and inclusive practices.
Engage in peer observations and collaborative lesson planning with colleagues teaching other languages and subjects.
Pursue self-directed learning through online courses, webinars and Telugu literary forums to enhance subject expertise and cultural awareness.
Contribute to the school’s professional learning community by sharing resources, lesson plans and best practices related to inclusive Telugu teaching.
Reflect on practice through annual self-appraisals and goal-setting aligned with the school’s inclusion and diversity framework.
