Job Overview
Sr University in Hasanparthy, Warangal is expanding its Electronics and Communication Engineering department with a focus on Microwave Engineering. The department has established a reputation for applied research in RF systems, antenna design, and wireless communication technologies. Existing faculty collaborate with DRDO labs in Hyderabad and CSIR-CEERI in Pilani on funded projects.
What You Will Do
Teach core courses such as Microwave Theory and Techniques, RF Circuit Design, and Antenna Theory to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Contribute to curriculum development by introducing emerging topics like 5G/6G front-end modules and metamaterial-based components. Conduct sponsored research in collaboration with industries in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
Publish research findings in IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, IET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation, and other peer-reviewed journals. Present papers at national conferences like IETE and national symposia organized by IITs. Engage in consultancy projects with local telecom service providers and start-ups in Warangal.
Guide M.Tech and Ph.D. students in their thesis work, from literature review to prototype testing. Assist in organizing workshops on RF measurement techniques using Vector Network Analyzers available in the department lab. Participate in Ph.D. viva voce examinations as internal examiner for Sr University scholars.
Eligibility Criteria
Postgraduate degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering with Microwave specialization is mandatory. Ph.D. in Microwave Engineering is required for permanent appointment as per UGC norms. Candidates without Ph.D. must have qualified UGC-NET with JRF or CSIR-NET in Electronics Science.
Minimum one year of teaching or research experience in Microwave Engineering at a recognized institution. Post-doctoral research or industry experience in RF system design will be preferred. Proficiency in simulation tools such as CST Microwave Studio, HFSS, and Keysight ADS is essential.
Research & Publications
Sr University encourages faculty to lead collaborative projects with DRDO, ISRO, and private sector partners. Opportunities exist to apply for DST-SERB grants and TEQIP-III sponsored research funds. Faculty members can avail travel support to present papers at international conferences in Europe and the USA.
What You Get
Monthly salary will be in the range of Rs.30,000 to Rs.45,000 as per UGC scales for Assistant Professor. Additional research grants of up to Rs.2.5 lakh per project are available for approved proposals. Contingency funds for attending conferences and purchasing components are provided annually.
Doctoral Guidance
Faculty member will supervise doctoral students registered under Sr University’s Ph.D. program in Electronics Engineering. Responsibilities include reviewing research proposals, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely submission of thesis drafts. Participation in doctoral committees of other universities is encouraged to broaden academic exposure.
