Role Summary
The University is inviting applications for a permanent full-time Professor in Distributed Systems at its Hasanparthy campus in Warangal, Telangana. Sr University seeks a seasoned academician with proven research credentials and at least five years of post-PhD teaching experience. The role involves leading advanced courses, guiding doctoral scholars, and spearheading sponsored projects in distributed computing.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Distributed Systems with a focus on cloud-native architectures and edge computing. Prepare detailed lesson plans aligned to UGC model curricula and Sr University’s academic calendar. Conduct laboratory sessions and evaluate student performance through continuous assessment methods.
Develop new electives such as Blockchain Systems and Federated Learning to meet industry demands. Supervise minor and major projects for M.Tech students and mentor Ph.D. candidates in their thesis work. Collaborate with peers to update syllabi based on emerging trends in distributed algorithms and fault tolerance.
Organize hands-on workshops on Docker, Kubernetes, and Apache Kafka for final-year B.Tech batches. Integrate research outcomes into classroom teaching and encourage students to publish in Scopus-indexed journals. Participate in departmental curriculum review committees and contribute to NAAC and NBA accreditation documentation.
Postgraduate Students
Guide master’s students in advanced topics like consensus protocols, distributed storage, and microservices. Assign semester-long research projects that require implementation on Sr University’s on-campus data center. Encourage students to present their work at national conferences such as those organized by CSI and IEEE Hyderabad sections.
Facilitate industry internships with local IT firms in Warangal for practical exposure. Maintain a balanced mix of theory and simulation-based assignments using tools like NS-3 and OMNeT++. Assist students in securing research grants from TEQIP and DST initiatives.
Who Can Apply
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field with at least 55% marks. NET/SLET qualification is mandatory if Ph.D. is not completed, as per UGC norms.
