About This Role
Gems Founders School is seeking a qualified UK Secondary Geography Teacher to join its vibrant community in Dubai. This is a full-time position teaching students aged 11 to 18 within a KHDA approved British curriculum framework. The role requires delivering engaging lessons that inspire curiosity about the world while preparing students for IGCSE and A-Level examinations.
What You Will Do
Plan and deliver dynamic Geography lessons aligned with the KHDA approved British curriculum at Gems Founders School.
Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to support learning.
Prepare students for IGCSE and A-Level Geography exams with a focus on global perspectives and local relevance.
Incorporate fieldwork and technology to enhance geographical inquiry and critical thinking.
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate cross-curricular themes such as sustainability and global citizenship.
Participate in extracurricular activities including Geography clubs, field trips, and community projects.
Maintain accurate records of student achievement and attendance in line with school policies.
Engage with parents and guardians during open days and progress review meetings.
Minimum Requirements
Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Geography or a related discipline with a teaching qualification such as B.Ed or PGCE
KHDA/MOE teacher license or eligibility to obtain one
At least 2 years of experience teaching Geography at the secondary level in a UK or international curriculum school
Attested academic certificates and police clearance certificate
IELTS 6.0 or above for non-native English speakers
Good to Have
Experience teaching IGCSE or A-Level Geography
Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum or Cambridge International curriculum
Experience working in a multicultural school environment
Knowledge of UAE geography and environmental challenges
Preferred Skills
Strong classroom management skills in a diverse, multicultural setting
Ability to differentiate instruction for students with varying abilities
Proficiency in using digital tools and geographical information systems (GIS)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
