JOB DESCRIPTION: TRAINED GRADUATE TEACHER (TGT) - PHYSICAL EDUCATION
POSITION OVERVIEW AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
The TGT Physical Education Teacher shall be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive physical education program. The primary objective is to facilitate the physical, mental, and social development of students through structured athletic activities. The incumbent is expected to maintain the highest standards of professional conduct, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment that aligns with the school's educational philosophy and statutory health and safety regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND LEGAL OBLIGATIONS
1. Instructional Duties: The Employee shall design and execute lesson plans in accordance with the prescribed national or state curriculum. This includes providing instruction in various sports, rhythmic activities, and health education while adapting methods to meet diverse learner needs.
2. Duty of Care and Supervision: The Employee holds a legal duty of care to ensure the safety of all students during sporting activities. This includes conducting pre-activity risk assessments, inspecting equipment for defects, and maintaining constant supervision to prevent injury or negligence claims.
3. Administrative Compliance: The Employee shall maintain accurate records of student attendance, physical fitness assessments, and grading. Documentation must be kept in compliance with the school's data protection policy and local educational mandates.
4. Extracurricular Management: The Employee is contractually obligated to organize and oversee inter-house and inter-school sports competitions. This includes the selection and training of school teams and coordinating logistics for off-site events.
5. Statutory Compliance: The Employee must strictly adhere to the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and any other prevailing child protection laws. Any suspected breach of student safety or welfare must be reported immediately to the Internal Complaints Committee.
6. Facilities Maintenance: The Employee shall oversee the inventory and maintenance of sports apparatus. Any hazardous conditions regarding the playground or gymnasium must be reported in writing to the School Administration immediately.

SALARY AND COMPENSATION BREAKDOWN
Location: Tier 3 City
Job Status: Full-time, Contractual
1. Basic Pay: Fixed monthly amount as per the school's pay scale for TGT grade.
2. House Rent Allowance (HRA): Calculated based on Tier 3 categorization (standard 8 percent to 10 percent of basic pay).
3. Dearness Allowance (DA): As per prevailing state or management norms.
4. Employee Provident Fund (EPF): Statutory deductions and employer contributions as per the Employees Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act.
5. Gratuity: Payable upon completion of five years of continuous service as per the Payment of Gratuity Act.
6. Leaves: Entitlement to Casual Leave, Sick Leave, and Earned Leave as per the school's leave policy.

1. Academic Qualification: Post-graduate degree in Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) from a recognized university.

CONTRACTUAL TERMS AND COMPLIANCE
The appointment is subject to a successful background check and verification of educational credentials. The initial contract shall be for a period of one to three years, including a probationary period of six months. Termination of the contract by either party requires a notice period of one to three months or salary in lieu thereof, as specified in the formal letter of appointment.
