Job Summary
The Post Graduate Teacher (Business Studies) will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, and standards-compliant instruction to students in Grades 11 and 12. The role requires expertise in business education, strong pedagogical skills, and a commitment to fostering academic excellence, critical thinking, and real-world application of business concepts. The incumbent will adhere to all statutory and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to the Right to Education (RTE) Act, CBSE/ICSE guidelines, and school policies. The teacher will also contribute to curriculum development, assessment design, and extracurricular initiatives aligned with the school’s vision of holistic education.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction and Curriculum Delivery
Design, plan, and deliver lessons in Business Studies (Accountancy, Economics, and Business Management) for Classes 11 and 12, in accordance with the prescribed board curriculum (CBSE/ICSE/State Board).
Ensure alignment of teaching content with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, including integration of experiential learning, case studies, and digital tools.
Prepare detailed lesson plans, unit plans, and yearly teaching schedules in advance, with clear learning objectives, assessments, and differentiation strategies.
Use a variety of teaching methodologies (lecture, discussion, project-based learning, flipped classroom) to cater to diverse learning styles.
Develop and maintain up-to-date teaching resources, including PowerPoint presentations, worksheets, case studies, and multimedia content.
Ensure 100% coverage of the syllabus with timely completion, allowing sufficient time for revision and practice.

Assessment and Evaluation
Design, administer, and evaluate formative and summative assessments in line with board guidelines.
Maintain accurate records of student performance, including attendance, marks, and feedback.
Prepare quarterly progress reports and conduct parent-teacher meetings to communicate student progress and areas for improvement.
Analyze assessment data to identify trends, gaps, and interventions required for individual students and the cohort.
Prepare students for board examinations with rigorous practice tests, model papers, and revision sessions.

Classroom Management and Student Development
Create a positive, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment that promotes respect, engagement, and academic integrity.
Implement school-wide behavior management policies and address student concerns with sensitivity and professionalism.
Encourage participation in business-related clubs, competitions (e.g., Young Entrepreneurs, Debates, Olympiads), and community service projects.
Provide mentorship and career guidance to students aspiring for commerce, business, or entrepreneurship pathways.
Promote values of ethics, sustainability, and social responsibility in business education.

Professional Development and Collaboration
Participate in mandatory professional development programs, including in-service training, workshops, and peer observations.
Engage in continuous professional learning to stay updated with latest trends in business education, assessment reforms, and technology integration.
Collaborate with the Business Studies department to develop interdisciplinary projects, cross-curricular links, and vertical articulation.
Contribute to school-wide initiatives such as academic audits, curriculum reviews, and policy updates.
Attend staff meetings, departmental meetings, and parent orientation programs as required.

Compliance and Reporting
Ensure strict adherence to all statutory requirements, including:
- Compliance with the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009, especially Section 19 (Pupil-Teacher Ratio, Infrastructure, and Safety).
- Implementation of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023 and board-specific guidelines.
- Maintenance of student records, attendance registers, and assessment data as per government and school policies.
- Reporting of any incidents of bullying, discrimination, or child protection concerns to the designated Child Protection Officer in accordance with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
- Compliance with the COVID-19 safety protocols and any future health advisories issued by the government.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements
- Postgraduate degree in Business Studies, Commerce, or related field (e.g., MBA in Finance/Marketing, M.Com) from a recognized university.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teacher training qualification from a NCTE-recognized institution.
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience as a Business Studies teacher at the senior secondary level (Grades 11–12).
- Proficiency in English and Hindi (or regional language as applicable).
- Familiarity with CBSE/ICSE/State Board curriculum and examination patterns.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, Google Classroom, digital assessment tools).

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) with specialization in Finance/Marketing/Human Resource Management.
- Experience with Cambridge International curriculum or IB Business Management.
- Certification in educational technology (e.g., Google Certified Educator, Microsoft Innovative Educator).
- Prior experience in a premium or international school environment.
- Research or publication in business education or related field.
- Experience with project-based learning, flipped classroom models, or blended learning.

Certifications and Clearances
- Valid teaching qualification recognized by NCTE or equivalent.
- Police Verification Certificate (PVC) – not older than 6 months at the time of joining.
- Medical Fitness Certificate from a government-recognized hospital.
- Aadhaar Card and PAN Card (mandatory for salary processing).
- No criminal record as per self-declaration and background verification.

Professional Development

Mandatory Requirements
- Completion of 50 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) annually, including:
- Participation in at least 20 hours of formal training (workshops, webinars, or courses) approved by the school or board.

- 10 hours of self-directed learning (reading journals, online modules, curriculum research).
