Job Description

POSITION: TGT SANSKRIT TEACHER

ROLE SUMMARY
Minimum Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Sanskrit or related discipline from a recognized university with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
2. Two (2) years of documented teaching experience at secondary level in a recognized school.
3. Proficiency in Sanskrit grammar, literature, and pedagogical methods for Classes VI–X.
4. Valid government-issued teaching eligibility certificate (TET preferred but not mandatory).
5. Age between 21 and 40 years as on date of application.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in Sanskrit or related discipline with minimum 55% aggregate marks.
2. Three (3) or more years of progressive teaching experience in a CBSE/ICSE or state-board curriculum environment.
3. Certification in Vedic chanting, yoga education, or classical Sanskrit drama.
4. Fluency in spoken Sanskrit and familiarity with digital teaching tools (smart boards, LMS platforms).
5. Prior experience in a premium-tier school or international curriculum setting.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
1. Instructional Delivery:
a. Plan and deliver 240 instructional hours annually aligned with CBSE/ICSE Sanskrit syllabus for Classes VI–X.
b. Integrate storytelling, chanting, and cultural context to enhance linguistic and literary understanding.
c. Maintain monthly lesson plans, unit assessments, and term-wise progress reports in prescribed format.

2. Assessment & Evaluation:
a. Conduct quarterly formative assessments (written, oral, and practical) with rubric-based grading.
b. Prepare and validate question banks and sample papers for annual board examinations.
c. Analyze student performance data and submit quarterly analytical reports to the Academic Coordinator.

3. Classroom Management:
a. Ensure 100% attendance compliance through biometric or digital attendance systems.
b. Maintain discipline registers, incident logs, and parent communication records.
c. Implement school-wide behavior management policies and zero-tolerance for corporal punishment.

4. Curriculum Development:
a. Participate in textbook selection committees and syllabus review sessions.
b. Develop supplementary teaching aids (worksheets, flashcards, audio-visual content) in Sanskrit.
c. Attend 15 hours of professional development annually as per CBSE norms.

5. Compliance & Reporting:
a. Submit monthly teaching plans, attendance registers, and financial utilization certificates (FUCs) to the Principal.
b. Ensure 100% compliance with Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
c. Report any child safety incidents or academic irregularities to the Child Protection Officer within 24 hours.

6. Parent & Community Engagement:
a. Conduct bi-annual parent-teacher meetings in Sanskrit and English.
b. Organize Sanskrit festivals, declamation contests, and inter-school Sanskrit Olympiads.
c. Collaborate with local Sanskrit scholars, cultural organizations, and alumni networks.

SALARY AND COMPENSATION
1. Base Salary: ₹45,000 per month (gross) paid in twelve equal installments.
2. Dearness Allowance: 15% of base salary, revised quarterly as per All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers.
3. House Rent Allowance: ₹12,000 per month for Tier 3 location, subject to submission of rent agreement and PAN card.
4. Conveyance Allowance: ₹4,000 per month for official travel between home and school, reimbursed against monthly bills.
5. Medical Reimbursement: ₹50,000 per annum for self and dependents, reimbursable against original bills within 30 days of incurrence.
6. Professional Development Allowance: ₹10,000 per annum for approved courses, workshops, or certifications.
7. Leave Travel Allowance: ₹15,000 per annum for domestic travel, reimbursable against travel tickets and boarding passes.
8. Gratuity: As per Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972, payable upon completion of five years of continuous service.
9. Provident Fund: 12% of base salary contributed monthly by employer and employee, with matching government contribution under EPS, 1995.
10. Insurance: Group health insurance coverage of ₹5,00,000 per annum for self and family, including critical illness riders.
11. Performance Bonus: Up to 10% of annual base salary, subject to annual appraisal rating of “Exceeds Expectations” or higher.
12. Retention Bonus: ₹20,000 payable at the end of the third and fifth years of service, subject to satisfactory performance and no disciplinary action.

CAREER GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES

1. Probation Period:
a. Initial probation period of twelve (12) months from date of joining.
b. Performance review conducted at the end of six (6) months and twelve (12) months.
c. Failure to meet performance benchmarks may result in termination of employment without notice or compensation.

2. Annual Appraisal:
a. Performance appraisal conducted annually in the month of March.
b. Evaluation criteria include instructional effectiveness (40%), student outcomes (30%), professional conduct (15%), and compliance adherence (15%).
c. Appraisal rating scale: Exceeds Expectations, Meets Expectations, Needs Improvement.
d. Employees rated “Exceeds Expectations” for two consecutive years are eligible for accelerated career progression.

3. Promotion Pathways:
a. Senior TGT Sanskrit Teacher:
i. Minimum three (3) years of service as TGT Sanskrit with consistent “Exceeds Expectations” ratings.
ii. Additional responsibilities include mentoring junior teachers, leading Sanskrit department, and curriculum innovation.
iii. Salary increment of ₹8,000 per month upon promotion.

b. PGT Sanskrit Teacher:
i. Minimum five (5) years of service with at least two (2) years in senior role.
ii. Qualification upgrade to Master’s degree in Sanskrit with 60% aggregate marks or equivalent.
iii. Salary increment of ₹12,000 per month upon promotion.

c. Academic Coordinator (Sanskrit):
i. Minimum seven (7) years of service with at least three (3) years in senior or PGT role.
ii. Responsibilities include departmental budgeting, teacher training, and liaison with CBSE/ICSE boards.
iii. Salary increment of ₹15,000 per month upon promotion.

d. Vice Principal (Academics):
i. Minimum ten (10) years of service with at least five (5) years in leadership role.
ii. Postgraduate degree in Education Management or equivalent.
iii. Salary increment of ₹20,000 per month upon promotion.
