As a PGT Computer Science Teacher, you will be tasked with inspiring and guiding students from grades 9-12 to develop problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and programming expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging computer science lessons to students in grades 9-12
- Develop and implement curriculum-aligned lesson plans, incorporating hands-on projects and coding exercises
- Foster a supportive learning environment, encouraging students to collaborate and participate in class discussions
- Engage with parents and guardians to update them on student progress and involve them in their child's educational journey
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives promoting computer science education
- Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in computer science to ensure lessons remain relevant and engaging
- Participate in school events, such as career fairs, science exhibitions, and parent-teacher meetings
- Contribute to the development of computer science resources and materials for students
- Provide support to students with special needs, adapting teaching methods to meet their requirements
Required Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field
- B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree
- TET or CTET certification (desirable)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in teaching computer science to students in grades 9-12
- Strong understanding of computer science concepts, programming languages, and software development tools
