We are looking for a qualified Post Graduate Teacher in Music for Seth M.r. Jaipuria School, Deoria. The role is full-time and requires 3 years of teaching experience in Music at the secondary and senior secondary levels. The candidate should have a strong background in Indian classical and Western music, along with proficiency in teaching Carnatic, Hindustani, and basic Western music theory.
Day-to-Day Duties
1. Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons for Grades 9 to 12 following CBSE curriculum guidelines.
2. Organize and conduct school choir, orchestra, and instrumental ensemble rehearsals weekly.
3. Prepare students for inter-school music competitions and cultural events in Deoria and nearby districts.
4. Assess students through practical exams, viva, written tests, and project work on a regular basis.
5. Maintain records of student progress, attendance, and portfolio submissions for each term.
6. Collaborate with other PGT teachers to integrate music with school events and assemblies.
7. Guide senior students interested in pursuing music at higher education or as a career.
8. Organize annual school music concert showcasing student talent in front of parents and community.
9. Participate in parent-teacher meetings and provide feedback on student performance in Music.
Eligibility Criteria
Must Have
- Postgraduate degree in Music (MA Music) from a recognized university.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) with Music specialization.
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in Music at the secondary/senior secondary level.
- Proficiency in playing at least one classical or Western instrument (Tabla, Sitar, Guitar, Violin).
- Familiarity with music notation software and digital audio tools for classroom use.
Good to Have
- CTET or UPTET qualification.
- Experience in preparing students for All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE) in Music.
- Participation in national-level music festivals or workshops as a performer or trainer.
- Knowledge of regional music forms from Uttar Pradesh and Bhojpuri folk traditions.
- Certification in music therapy or sound healing is an added advantage.
