Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION: PGT CHEMISTRY TEACHER
ROLE SUMMARY
As a PGT Chemistry Teacher at our school, you are more than an instructor; you are a catalyst for change. In our Tier 4 community, your role is to ignite a passion for science in senior secondary students who are ready to dream big. You will be responsible for teaching Class 11 and 12, helping them navigate the complexities of chemical equations while building their confidence to pursue professional careers in medicine, engineering, and research.
STUDENT PROFILE
Our students are resilient, hardworking, and full of untapped potential. Most come from modest backgrounds where they are the first in their families to aim for higher education in science. They are eager learners who value their teachers deeply but often require a bridge between their rural reality and the competitive world of science. They need someone who believes in their ability to succeed despite the lack of urban resources.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Your primary focus will be on student engagement and empowerment.
Create interactive lesson plans that relate chemistry to the students' daily lives and local environment.
Lead hands-on laboratory sessions, ensuring every student masters the art of experimentation.
Simplify abstract concepts like organic synthesis and thermodynamics into understandable parts.
Mentor students for their board exams and provide guidance for entrance exams like JEE and NEET.
Build a classroom culture where students feel safe to ask questions and explore new ideas.
Act as a role model, providing emotional and academic support to help students stay motivated.
WHY JOIN US
Joining our school means choosing a path of purpose. Here, you will see the direct impact of your work every single day. You will be part of a mission-driven team dedicated to bringing quality education to an underserved area. We offer the chance to be a hero in a student's life story, helping them break the cycle of poverty through the power of science.
TEACHING METHODOLOGY
We move away from rote learning. Our methodology focuses on inquiry-based learning. You are encouraged to use demonstrations, visual aids, and storytelling to explain chemical properties. We believe that if a student can see a reaction happen, they will remember the logic behind it forever. Your goal is to move the student from what to why.
INSTRUCTION APPROACH
The approach is student-centric and highly empathetic. We expect our teachers to meet students where they are. This involves patience, clear communication, and the ability to provide remedial support for those who find the subject challenging. You should be able to foster a collaborative environment where students learn from each other as much as they learn from you.
CAREER GROWTH
We value our educators as long-term partners. You will have opportunities for professional development through workshops and training. As you grow with us, you can move into roles such as Department Head, Academic Coordinator, or Teacher Mentor. We recognize and reward dedication, especially those who show initiative in improving student outcomes in our community.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Post Graduate degree in Chemistry is mandatory.
Minimum 2 years of teaching experience is required.
TET qualification is not required for this role.
A heart for service and a passion for rural education are essential.
To apply, please submit your CV and a brief note on why you want to teach in a Tier 4 area.
