Job Overview
Delhi Public School, Modinagar is looking for a PGT Music Teacher to nurture the musical talents of students in Ghaziabad and the surrounding areas. Who You Will Teach
You will teach senior secondary students preparing for board exams and competitive exams like the All India Music Examination. Classes include students from families across Modinagar, Ghaziabad, and nearby towns who are keen to pursue music academically and professionally. Your guidance will help them balance academic rigor with creative expression.
What You Will Do
Develop a structured curriculum for Classes 9 to 12 covering vocal and instrumental music, music theory, and history. Plan weekly lessons aligned with CBSE and state board requirements for Music as an elective subject. Organize school concerts, inter-house competitions, and participation in national-level music festivals.
Prepare students for practical and theory exams, including vocal recitals, instrument performances, and written tests. Guide students in selecting research topics for project work and internal assessments in musicology. Mentor students preparing for entrance exams in music colleges and universities.
Coordinate with other departments to integrate music with cultural events, assemblies, and morning prayers. Maintain records of student progress, attendance, and assessment reports for academic reviews. Collaborate with the arts department to design cross-disciplinary projects involving dance and drama.
Eligibility Criteria
Postgraduate degree in Music from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks. B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification is mandatory for teaching at the senior secondary level. Prior teaching experience of at least three years in a CBSE-affiliated school is required.
Skills We Value
Strong command over Hindustani and/or Carnatic vocal and instrumental traditions. Ability to teach Western music notation, solfège, and harmony to students with varied backgrounds. Experience in preparing students for CBSE Music examinations and competitive platforms.
Familiarity with digital tools for music notation, audio recording, and online teaching is an advantage. Excellent communication skills to engage students, parents, and colleagues in Hindi and English. Passion for fostering creativity and discipline in young musicians.
What You Get
