Job Overview

Gorakhpur Public School is inviting applications for a PGT Biology Teacher Vacancy in Gorakhpur for a full-time position. The role requires a postgraduate in Biology with a B.Ed degree and at least two years of teaching experience in secondary or higher secondary classes. The selected candidate will handle Biology classes from Grades 9 to 12, following the CBSE curriculum and school guidelines.

Day-to-Day Duties

1. Plan and deliver engaging Biology lessons for Grades 9 to 12 using interactive teaching methods.
2. Prepare lesson plans aligned with the CBSE syllabus and school academic calendar.
3. Conduct regular assessments, practical demonstrations, and periodic tests for Biology students.
4. Organize science exhibitions, field trips, and guest lectures related to Biology topics.
5. Maintain student records, attendance, and academic progress reports in the school ERP system.
6. Prepare students for CBSE board exams and competitive exams like NEET through focused mentoring.
7. Collaborate with other science teachers to develop cross-curricular projects and teaching aids.
8. Participate in PTMs, staff meetings, and school events as scheduled by the administration.
9. Provide remedial support to students facing difficulties in understanding Biology concepts.

Required Qualifications

Must Have
- Postgraduate degree in Biology (Zoology/Botany/Life Sciences) from a recognized university
- B.Ed degree from a recognized institution
- Minimum two years of teaching experience in Biology for Classes 9 to 12
- Fluency in Hindi and English with strong communication skills

Good to Have
- D.El.Ed or equivalent qualification for additional eligibility
- CTET or UPTET qualified candidates will be given preference
- Experience in CBSE-affiliated schools and familiarity with NEET preparation strategies
