Day-to-Day Duties
Prepare and deliver the TGT Computer Science curriculum for Classes 9 to 12, ensuring alignment with CBSE guidelines and board expectations. Plan and conduct weekly departmental meetings to review lesson plans, assessments, and student progress across grades. Monitor and mentor junior Computer Science teachers, providing feedback on teaching methods and classroom management.
Develop and maintain a resource library of lesson plans, lab manuals, and digital content for grades 9 through 12. Design and administer periodic internal assessments to track conceptual understanding and practical application in programming and IT fundamentals. Organize inter-house coding competitions and IT quizzes to foster interest and participation beyond regular classes.
Collaborate with the school IT team to maintain and upgrade the computer labs with necessary software and hardware. Liaise with the examination department to ensure smooth conduct of practical exams and project submissions for board assessments. Represent the department in parent-teacher meetings and school academic forums to address subject-specific concerns.
Required Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in Computer Science or related field from a recognized university. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) with specialization in Computer Science or Information Technology. Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience at the secondary or senior secondary level in Computer Science.
Preference will be given to candidates holding CTET or UPTET certification in Computer Science. Experience in curriculum development and student mentoring in a school environment is highly desirable. Familiarity with CBSE Computer Science syllabus and assessment patterns is essential.
