Leadership Expectations and Curriculum Ownership
As a PGT History Teacher at Sun International School, you will be responsible for teaching History to students of different age groups, designing and implementing curriculum, and taking ownership of the subject. You will be expected to lead by example, set high standards, and motivate students to achieve academic excellence. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of student performance, attending staff meetings, and participating in curriculum development.
Core Responsibilities
* Teach History to students of different age groups, designing and implementing curriculum to meet the needs of diverse learners
* Develop and implement lesson plans, assessments, and activities to promote student engagement and understanding
* Maintain accurate records of student performance, progress, and behavior
* Attend staff meetings, participate in curriculum development, and contribute to school-wide initiatives
* Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver inclusive, high-quality teaching and learning experiences
* Develop and implement assessments to measure student learning and progress
* Provide feedback to students, parents, and colleagues on student performance and progress
* Participate in staff development and professional learning opportunities to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge
* Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture
* Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive learning environment
What You Bring to the Table
* A Bachelor's Degree in History or a related field, with a valid B.Ed. or D.El.Ed. degree
* A minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching History to students of different age groups
* Proven track record of teaching and learning, with a focus on student-centered approaches and inclusive practices
* Strong subject knowledge and pedagogical skills, with the ability to design and deliver engaging lessons and activities
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
* Commitment to academic excellence, with a focus on student achievement and progress
* Willingness to take on leadership roles and responsibilities, with a focus on curriculum development and staff collaboration
