ROLE SUMMARY
As a PRT Music Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality music education that is rooted in inclusive practices. Your role goes beyond teaching notes and rhythms; you will create a safe space where every student feels represented and capable. You will adapt your teaching methods to meet the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework, ensuring that music is an equitable experience for all primary years students. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and deliver inclusive music lessons for primary grade levels.
- Facilitate vocal and instrumental instruction that accommodates various physical and cognitive abilities.
- Organise school performances and assemblies that reflect a diverse range of musical cultures and ensure all students can participate.
- Assess student progress using multiple modes of expression to ensure fair evaluation for diverse learners.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music with other subjects through an inclusive lens.
- Maintain a classroom environment that is physically and emotionally accessible to all.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student growth and inclusive milestones.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Education: Graduate degree (any discipline, though Music or Education is preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in a school or formal instructional setting.
- TET: Not required.
- Skills: Proficiency in at least one instrument or vocals, and a foundational understanding of inclusive education.
