Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated TGT Sanskrit Teacher to join our vibrant international school community located in a growing Tier 3 city. This role is designed for an educator who believes that the beauty of the Sanskrit language should be accessible to every student, regardless of their starting point. The ideal candidate will hold a Post Graduate degree in Sanskrit and possess at least 2 years of teaching experience. While we value academic excellence, we do not require a TET qualification. Your primary goal will be to foster a love for linguistic heritage while ensuring an equitable and supportive classroom where every child can succeed.
Instruction Approach
Our approach to teaching Sanskrit is rooted in the principles of Universal Design for Learning. We move away from traditional rote learning to focus on communicative and experiential methods. You will be expected to design lessons that use various media, such as music, digital tools, and storytelling, to engage different senses. We emphasize differentiation, meaning you will adapt your teaching pace and materials to suit individual learning trajectories. By connecting ancient texts to contemporary global values, you will help students see the relevance of Sanskrit in a modern, international context.
Student Profile
Our classrooms are home to a diverse group of learners with varying needs, including neurodivergent students, those with specific learning disabilities, and high-achievers. We serve a community where students come from different linguistic and socio-economic backgrounds. As a teacher, you will encounter children who process information at different speeds and in different ways. We expect our faculty to see this diversity as a strength and to proactively remove barriers to learning, ensuring that every student feels seen, heard, and capable of mastering the curriculum.
What We Offer
We provide a professional environment that prioritizes diversity and inclusion competencies. You will have access to ongoing professional development focused on inclusive pedagogy and special educational needs support. Our school offers a competitive compensation package for the Tier 3 region and a clear path for career progression within an international framework. We provide a platform where your unique perspectives are valued, and you are encouraged to participate in school-wide equity initiatives. We are committed to maintaining a workplace where staff members from all walks of life feel a true sense of belonging.
Work Environment
The work environment at our school is built on the foundations of empathy, collaboration, and mutual respect. We maintain a culture that is free from discrimination and encourages open dialogue among staff, students, and parents. Our campus is designed to be an inclusive space where teamwork is the norm. We understand the importance of work-life balance and provide a supportive network of peers and mentors. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome candidates from all backgrounds to contribute to our mission of holistic education.
Application Process
Our application process is designed to be accessible and fair to all candidates. To apply, please submit your resume along with a brief statement sharing your thoughts on how to make a traditional language like Sanskrit inclusive for all types of learners. We conduct blind reviews of initial applications to minimize unconscious bias. If you require any specific accommodations during the interview or the teaching demonstration—such as assistance with technology or physical accessibility—please inform our recruitment team. We are committed to providing an equitable experience for every applicant.
