Transport Incharge (Non-Teaching Position)
Job Overview
The Transport Incharge will oversee all school transportation operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in digital tools for route planning, fleet management, and real-time tracking. The ideal candidate will integrate technology to enhance operational transparency, parent communication, and emergency response protocols.
Your Responsibilities
Digital Route Planning & Scheduling
Use GPS-based software (e.g., Google Maps, Route4Me, OptimoRoute) to design optimized school bus routes, minimizing travel time and fuel consumption.
Maintain digital records of student pick-ups, drop-offs, and attendance via school management systems (e.g., Fedena, MyClassCampus).
Fleet Management & Monitoring
Monitor vehicle health using fleet management software (e.g., Fleetio, Teletrac Navman) to track maintenance schedules, fuel usage, and driver performance.
Implement IoT-enabled dashboards (e.g., Geotab, Samsara) for real-time vehicle tracking and route deviations.
Parent & Stakeholder Communication
Leverage parent communication apps (e.g., ClassDojo, Remind) to send automated alerts for delays, cancellations, or emergencies.
Maintain a digital logbook for incidents, repairs, and compliance reports.
Emergency & Safety Protocols
Integrate emergency alert systems (e.g., panic buttons, GPS-based SOS features) into transport operations.
Conduct digital safety audits using checklists (e.g., via Google Forms or specialized apps) to ensure vehicle compliance with safety standards.
Facilities (Tech Infrastructure)
Access to:
GPS-enabled school buses with real-time tracking
School management system (SMS) integration for attendance and reporting
Parent communication platforms (SMS, email, app-based notifications)
Fleet management software for vehicle tracking and maintenance logs
Digital incident reporting tools
Classroom Environment (Tech Implementation)
While this is a non-teaching role, the Transport Incharge will work closely with the school’s EdTech ecosystem to ensure seamless integration of digital tools. This includes:
Training bus drivers and staff on using GPS devices and safety apps.
Collaborating with IT to troubleshoot software/hardware issues in transport operations.
Using digital dashboards to share performance metrics (e.g., on-time rates, fuel efficiency) with school leadership.
Teaching Methodology (Digital Tools & Platforms)

Eligibility Criteria
Qualification: Graduate in any discipline (preferably with a background in logistics, business, or transportation).
Experience: Minimum 1 year in transport coordination, fleet management, or logistics (school transport experience is a plus).
Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with GPS software, fleet management tools, and basic IT troubleshooting.
Certifications: Valid driver’s license (preferred) and willingness to obtain transport-related certifications (e.g., defensive driving).
