About This Role
The position at St Xavier High Schiil is designed for a PGT Chemistry Teacher who will deliver structured lessons to Classes 11 and 12, ensuring every student in Tamkuhi Raj, Kushinagar, builds a strong foundation in chemical principles. Day-to-Day Duties (differentiated instruction, support for all learners)
Prepare daily lesson plans with clear objectives, demonstrations, and practice exercises for chemical bonding, thermodynamics, and organic reactions. Conduct weekly lab sessions where students perform titrations, qualitative analysis, and salt analysis; ensure safety protocols are followed by all. Provide after-school revision slots for students who struggle with numerical problems or organic nomenclature. Mark unit tests and term-end papers within three days and give individual feedback sheets to each learner. Organize monthly remedial classes for students scoring below 40 percent in Chemistry. Collaborate with the science department head to standardize practical exams across batches. Participate in parent-teacher meetings to explain progress in Chemistry. Contribute to school science exhibitions by guiding students in preparing working models or charts.
Eligibility Criteria
Post-graduate degree in Chemistry with minimum 50 percent marks from a recognized university. B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification is mandatory; TET/CTET will be considered an advantage. Two years of teaching experience at the senior secondary level is required; experience in a rural or semi-urban setting like Tamkuhi Raj is preferred.
Preferred Skills (inclusive pedagogy, patience, communication)
Fluency in Hindi and English is essential so you can explain concepts clearly to students who mix languages. Patience in repeating reactions or balancing equations for weaker students is important. Strong classroom communication skills help maintain discipline during practicals and discussions. Ability to use simple local examples—such as urea from local fertilizer shops or acid rain effects on crops—to make Chemistry relatable.
