Role Responsibilities
Teaching Environmental Studies (Evs) to students from Class I to VIII, designing age-appropriate lesson plans that emphasize real-world applications of ecological concepts. Organizing outdoor learning experiences like school gardens, waste segregation drives, and visits to local conservation parks to bridge theory with practical learning. Developing and implementing experiments, projects, and quizzes that explore topics like renewable energy, climate change, and pollution control, ensuring hands-on participation from students.
Facilitating discussions on current environmental issues, such as deforestation, water conservation, and renewable energy, using local case studies and regional examples to make lessons relatable. Partnering with the principal and subject coordinators to assess the effectiveness of Evs programs and suggest improvements based on student feedback and performance data. Preparing and maintaining detailed teaching resources, including worksheets, PowerPoint presentations, and multimedia content, to support diverse learning styles.
Collaborating with parents and community organizations to promote environmental awareness beyond the classroom, such as organizing tree-planting events or workshops on sustainable living. Ensuring compliance with school policies on safety, health, and environmental ethics during field activities and outdoor excursions. Actively participating in school-wide initiatives like Earth Day celebrations, recycling campaigns, and eco-club activities to create a culture of environmental stewardship.
Eligibility
Hold a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) from a recognized university, with a strong foundation in science and social sciences. Possess a graduate degree in any relevant field, such as biology, environmental science, or geography, to enhance subject expertise. Two years of teaching experience in schools, preferably in environmental studies or related subjects, though not mandatory if the candidate demonstrates strong subject knowledge and teaching aptitude.
Candidates with TET/CTET certification are preferred but not mandatory for this position. Demonstrated passion for environmental education and experience in engaging students with complex ecological concepts will be highly valued. A clean criminal background and adherence to ethical standards are essential for this role.
