About This Role
Dav Public School is looking for a Special Educator to support learners with diverse learning needs across all classes. The role involves designing individualised plans, coordinating with therapists, and guiding parents through school processes. You will work closely with the school leadership to ensure inclusion and compliance with special education policies.
What You Will Do
1. Develop Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities after thorough assessments.
2. Collaborate with external specialists such as speech therapists and occupational therapists for integrated support.
3. Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and IEP implementation in the school database.
4. Conduct regular meetings with parents to explain reports, share feedback, and recommend home-based strategies.
5. Organise in-house training sessions for school staff on inclusive practices and classroom adaptations.
6. Assist the school administration in procuring adaptive materials and assistive technology within budget.
7. Monitor classroom environments to ensure accessibility and recommend modifications as needed.
8. Participate in school-level committees on child protection, discipline, and special education policy review.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a postgraduate degree in Special Education, M.Ed (Special Education), or an equivalent recognised qualification. A B.Ed in Special Education with D.El.Ed background will be preferred. Prior experience of three years in a similar role within a school setting is essential. Knowledge of local language Hindi and English is necessary for parent interactions and documentation.
