Job Description
TGT Social Science Teacher Job in Mau, Uttar Pradesh | School Recruitment
The school community and culture
St Xaviers School in Mau Sadar is more than a building; it is a small family where teachers walk with students through every chapter of history, every map of geography, every story of our freedom struggle. The corridors echo with debates on constitutional values, village panchayats, and the push and pull of markets—lessons that begin in the classroom and spill into the playground.
What it's like to work here
You will join a team that plans lessons over chai in the staff room and revises them after late-evening parent calls. The school keeps a balance: structured PTMs in term time and open house evenings where elders of Mau village sit side by side with young parents. Professional growth happens not only through the CBSE workshops but also through the quiet mentoring you give to the history club students who prepare for inter-school quizzes.
Your role in the community
As the TGT Social Science Teacher you will map the entire syllabus of classes 6–8 across history, civics and geography, ensuring each map is accurate and each timeline feels alive. You will conduct monthly heritage walks in the town bazaar so students can see the colonial architecture first-hand. You will coordinate with local NGOs for cleanliness drives tied to Swachh Bharat lessons and guide the eco-club on riverbank erosion studies along the Tamsa. You will prepare students for CBSE Social Science assessments while also coaching them for the Junior Quiz Olympiad. You will sit on the school’s academic council to align Social Science outcomes with NEP 2020. You will counsel parents when exam stress shows up in the form of sleepless nights. You will represent St Xaviers School at district-level curriculum forums so Mau’s voice is heard in textbook revisions.
Who fits in here
You must hold a bachelor’s degree and a B.Ed or D.El.Ed. TET or CTET is welcome but not mandatory. Two years of classroom experience in Social Science is essential. What matters more is your ability to tell the story of 1857 or the Green Revolution with the same energy you bring to a classroom debate on GST. You should be comfortable with vernacular terms—zamindari, swadeshi, panchayati raj—because students switch between Hindi and English faster than you can open a PowerPoint.
What you get
Your compensation will be no bar for deserving candidates; we shape it to the right profile. You will receive the standard school benefits: EPF, group medical cover for parents and children, and a book allowance for your own academic refresh.
How to become part of the team
Bring your mark sheets, experience certificates, and a short note on how you would teach the Emergency of 1975 to 13-year-olds. Send everything in one PDF to the HR coordinator at careers@stxaviersmau.edu.in with the subject line “Social Science Teacher Vacancy in Mau”.

About School
St. Xavier’s School has been a familiar name on the streets of Mau Sadar for as long as many of us can remember. Though the doors first opened only a few years ago, the idea of a school that could blend the town’s traditional values with a modern education was nurtured by generations of families who wanted something better for their children. Our building stands opposite the historic Jama Masjid, and every morning you can hear the call to prayer...
