About This Role
United University invites applications for the position of Professor in Anatomy. This is a full-time role based in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The position requires extensive teaching experience and a strong academic background in medical anatomy.
What You Will Do
Teach undergraduate MBBS students in gross anatomy, histology, and embryology as per the MCI curriculum. Conduct practical sessions in dissection halls and histology labs for first-year medical students. Deliver lectures and tutorials on applied anatomy for clinical subjects in later years.
Prepare and update lecture notes, practical manuals, and e-content for digital learning platforms used by United University. Evaluate student performance through theory and practical examinations, viva voce, and internal assessments.
Contribute to curriculum design and revision for MBBS and MD Anatomy programs at United University. Organize and supervise academic events such as seminars, workshops, and anatomy museum displays.
Postgraduate Students
Guide postgraduate students enrolled in the MD Anatomy program at United University. Supervise their thesis work, research methodology, and dissertation writing as per MCI guidelines. Assist students in publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
Encourage postgraduate students to participate in national conferences and anatomy association meetings. Organize guest lectures by eminent anatomists for academic enrichment of PG students.
Eligibility Criteria
PhD in Anatomy or a related medical discipline with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized university. NET/SLET qualified candidates are preferred if PhD is not completed. Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in anatomy at a medical college or university.
Published at least five research papers in UGC-recognized or Scopus-indexed journals. Active participation in seminars, conferences, and faculty development programs is essential.
Learning and Development
Maintain an Annual Performance Indicator (API) score of 100 or above for career progression as per UGC norms. Contribute to institutional research projects and collaborate with departments like physiology and biochemistry.
Attend UGC-sponsored refresher courses and orientation programs to stay updated with advances in medical education and anatomy research.
Perks and Pay
The salary for this position is Rs.60,000 to Rs.80,000 per month, as per UGC scales. Additional allowances include house rent, medical, and travel as per state government rules.
