About This Role
United University’s School of Commerce and Legal Studies invites applications for the position of Professor in Business Law Management. Day-To-Day Duties
Teach advanced courses in Business Law Management at the postgraduate and doctoral levels. Prepare and deliver lectures, case studies, and workshops aligned with UGC curriculum guidelines. Engage with students in Prayagraj and beyond through blended learning modes.
Conduct independent and collaborative research in business law, publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus or Web of Science. Lead funded projects under schemes like UGC-Major Research Project or ICSSR. Present papers at national and international seminars regularly.
Guide doctoral students in formulating research proposals, conducting literature reviews, and writing dissertations. Supervise at least three Ph.D. scholars at any given time as per UGC norms. Evaluate thesis drafts and provide constructive feedback for final submissions.
Who Can Apply
Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Business Law, Corporate Law, or related disciplines from a recognized Indian university. Post-doctoral research or industry experience in legal consultancy will be given preference. Candidates with UGC-NET with JRF or equivalent qualification will be preferred if Ph.D. is not completed.
Minimum five years of full-time teaching experience at the postgraduate level in a UGC-recognized university is required. Experience in curriculum design, syllabus revision, and examination evaluation is essential. Familiarity with AICTE or UGC model syllabi in business law will be advantageous.
Research & Publications
Develop and lead collaborative research projects with national and international partners. Apply for extramural funding through UGC, ICSSR, or corporate CSR initiatives. Publish at least two research papers annually in Scopus/WoS indexed journals.
Contribute to the university’s law review journal by serving as an editor or reviewer. Organize seminars, webinars, and roundtables on emerging business law themes. Partner with legal firms and chambers in Prayagraj for moot court competitions and internships.
Ph.D. Supervision
Supervise doctoral students from admission to viva voce examination. Assist scholars in identifying research gaps, methodology, and data sources. Ensure timely completion of theses within the UGC stipulated period.
Evaluate Ph.D. synopses, progress reports, and final theses as per university regulations. Mentor students in publishing their findings in conference proceedings or journals. Encourage interdisciplinary co-supervision with commerce and management faculty.
What You Get
The selected candidate will receive a consolidated monthly salary of Rs.60,000 to Rs.90,000 as per UGC seventh pay revision norms. Additional research grants and contingency funds are available for approved projects.
