PROFESSOR - Gynecology And Obstetrics in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh | University Recruitment
About This Role
United University is expanding its Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics with a senior academician to lead teaching, research, and clinical mentorship. Key Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students using evidence-based pedagogy and case-based learning. Organize clinical postings, seminars, and journal clubs aligned with the latest NMC curriculum. Contribute to curriculum design and revision cycles at United University.
Lead independent and collaborative research in maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology, or gynecologic oncology. Secure extramural funding from ICMR, DBT, or SERB to support lab and field studies. Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals indexed in PubMed and Scopus.
Guide doctoral students through thesis writing, ethical approvals, and manuscript preparation. Serve on Ph.D. review committees and external examiner panels for other universities. Mentor junior faculty in grant writing and academic writing skills.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in Gynecology and Obstetrics is mandatory for the Professor position at United University. A minimum of five years of post-Ph.D. teaching experience in a recognized medical college or university is required.
UGC-NET with JRF or equivalent national eligibility is preferred if Ph.D. is not held. Clinical teaching experience in a tertiary care setting is highly valued alongside academic roles.
Research & Publications
Develop and lead research projects on high-priority areas such as high-risk pregnancy, infertility, or cervical cancer screening in rural Uttar Pradesh. Collaborate with departments of pediatrics, pathology, and community medicine within United University.
Apply for intramural grants from United University’s seed fund and external agencies like ICMR and DBT. Maintain a consistent publication record in Q1 journals with an h-index suitable for Professor level.
Ph.D. Supervision
Supervise at least four Ph.D. scholars simultaneously, ensuring timely progress and thesis submission. Co-guide interdisciplinary doctoral projects involving public health and biostatistics.
Participate in viva voce examinations and thesis evaluations for candidates from other universities as per UGC norms. Contribute to the university’s Ph.D. monitoring committee meetings twice a year.
Salary and Benefits
The monthly consolidated salary ranges from Rs.60,000 to Rs.90,000 as per UGC norms for Professor positions. Additional research grants and conference allowances are available based on project performance.
