About This Role
United University invites applications for a full-time PROFESSOR position in the Department of Mass Communication, to teach Photojournalism at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. As a PROFESSOR of Photojournalism, you will be expected to create and deliver engaging courses, contribute to curriculum development, and mentor students in their academic and professional pursuits.
Day-to-Day Duties
1. Teach undergraduate and postgraduate level courses in Photojournalism, including lectures, workshops, and assignments.
2. Develop and deliver syllabi for new courses, and update existing ones as per the changing needs of the media industry.
3. Conduct research in Photojournalism, and publish papers in peer-reviewed journals to maintain academic rigor.
4. Guide postgraduate students in their research projects, and provide mentorship in their academic and professional pursuits.
5. Collaborate with colleagues across departments to develop interdisciplinary courses and projects.
6. Participate in academic committees and contribute to the development of academic policies at United University.
7. Engage with industry professionals and alumni to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
8. Participate in University events, such as seminars, workshops, and conferences, to foster a culture of academic excellence.
Postgraduate Students
As a PROFESSOR, you will be expected to guide master level students in their research projects, and provide mentorship in their academic and professional pursuits. You will also be expected to develop and deliver courses that cater to the needs of postgraduate students, and help them develop skills in research, analysis, and critical thinking.
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a PhD in Photojournalism or a related field from a recognized Indian University, with a minimum of 55% marks. NET or SLET qualification is mandatory, if PhD is not completed. The candidate should also have a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals, and a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in a recognized University. Experience in research and academic administration is highly desirable.

You will be required to obtain an API score of 3.0 or more to be eligible for promotion, and to contribute to the growth and development of the Department of Mass Communication.
