Kalpavriksha School

When I first walked through the quiet lane of Rajpur Road in Dehradun, I imagined a place where the hills surrounding us could become a backdrop to learning rather than a distraction. Kalpavriksha School was born from that vision—a modest campus on the outskirts of the city where families from both the valley and the nearby towns could send their children with confidence. As the founder and now principal, I have watched the school grow from a handful of classrooms to a vibrant community of teachers, students, and parents, all linked by a shared purpose.

Our school is anchored to the Uttarakhand Board of School Education, which means we follow a curriculum that respects the state’s cultural heritage while preparing students for the challenges of higher studies and work. We do not claim to be extraordinary in every way, but we do insist on a steady, honest approach to learning: teachers spend time understanding each child’s strengths, parents are invited to be part of school life, and students are encouraged to ask questions that matter to them. In this way, we aim to give every child a solid grounding in the core subjects while also allowing space for art, music, and the outdoors that Dehradun offers so freely.

Kalpavriksha serves families who value a balanced education—those who want their children to excel academically without losing sight of character and community. Our students come from diverse backgrounds: some from the city, some from the surrounding villages, and many who travel a little farther because they believe in the ethos we have cultivated. The school’s modest size lets us keep class numbers low, so teachers can give individual attention and know each student by name. This personal touch, I believe, is what sets us apart.

Looking ahead, my hope is simple: to keep this school rooted in the hills, open to new ideas, and always attentive to the needs of the children who walk through our gates. If you are looking for a place where learning feels purposeful and where the community feels like an extended family, Kalpavriksha School welcomes you.
