Day-to-Day Duties
Oversee the school infirmary and maintain accurate records of student health check-ups, vaccinations, and medical referrals. Coordinate with external healthcare providers for routine camps and emergency interventions as needed.
Supervise a team of two nursing attendants, assign daily tasks, and conduct performance reviews to maintain high service standards. Ensure all medical equipment is functional and supplies are adequately stocked at all times.
Develop and update health emergency protocols in consultation with the school administration. Conduct regular drills and staff training sessions to prepare the team for crisis situations.
Monitor compliance with Uttarakhand health regulations and school health policies. Prepare monthly health reports and present them to the school leadership for review.
Day-to-day coordination with parents regarding student health concerns, including follow-ups on medical certificates and prescribed treatments. Maintain confidentiality while documenting sensitive student health information.
Liaise with local hospitals and clinics in Dehradun for seamless referrals and emergency transport arrangements. Keep updated on regional health advisories to guide the school community appropriately.
Organize annual health awareness sessions for students, staff, and parents on topics like hygiene, nutrition, and common seasonal illnesses. Collaborate with the school counselor to integrate health education into the student support framework.
Required Qualifications
Graduate in Nursing from a recognized institution with minimum three years of experience in school or institutional healthcare settings. Registration with the State Nursing Council is mandatory.
Prior experience in managing a small healthcare team and handling administrative responsibilities will be preferred. Familiarity with school health policies and emergency preparedness is desirable.
