Regular Responsibilities Across the Academic Cycle
Develop and assess term-end projects, essays, and exams on Political Science, ensuring students grasp theoretical concepts alongside practical applications. Collaborate with the school’s academic team to design unit-wise assessments that test critical thinking and analytical skills. Attend departmental meetings to discuss curriculum updates and student performance trends. Participate in school events, including guest lectures or debates, to reinforce political awareness among students.
Periodic Responsibilities
Conduct periodic parent-teacher interactions to discuss students’ progress in Political Science, sharing insights on their strengths and areas needing improvement. Organize field trips or guest speaker sessions to expose students to political institutions in Hooghly, such as local government offices or historical sites. Review and update teaching resources, including textbooks and supplementary materials, to ensure they reflect current academic standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Hold a postgraduate degree in Political Science with at least four years of teaching experience at the secondary or senior secondary level. Possession of a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification is mandatory. While TET/CTET certification is not strictly required, it is highly beneficial for classroom credibility. Demonstrated ability to teach Political Science effectively, including experience in motivating diverse student groups, is essential.
