PRT English Teacher Job in Hooghly, West Bengal | School Recruitment
In Balagarh, Hooghly, children light up when they finally understand the difference between ‘there’ and ‘their’. That small moment of clarity is why many teachers stay in this region. Ekalavya Model School wants someone who can keep that spark alive every day.
What makes this School special
Ekalavya Model School is known for its strong English corner in every classroom. Students here read newspapers aloud, act out short plays, and even write letters to local leaders. The school believes English opens doors beyond textbooks, so every PRT English Teacher plays a key role in shaping that journey.
A typical day or week in this role
Prepare lesson plans for Classes 1 to 5, focusing on phonics, reading, and basic grammar. Take daily English periods, making sure every child gets a chance to speak. Conduct morning assembly where students recite poems or give short speeches in English. Organize weekly spelling bees and story-telling sessions to build confidence. Work with parents during PTMs to explain progress in English skills. Coordinate with senior teachers to align content with Ekalavya Model School’s English curriculum. Help maintain the school’s English display boards and reading corners. Attend monthly staff meetings to share ideas and challenges.
Who would thrive here
A graduate with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed who has at least two years of teaching experience. Candidates with a passion for spoken English and creative teaching methods will do well. Ekalavya Model School values patience and clear communication, so those who enjoy breaking down lessons into simple steps will fit right in.
The rewards
