About This Role
We're seeking a skilled Chess Coach to join our team in Bally Jagachha, Howrah, West Bengal. As a Chess Coach, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive chess program that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and sportsmanship skills among our students. This part-time position is perfect for someone who's passionate about chess and committed to making a positive impact in the lives of young students.
What You Will Do
- Develop and implement a chess program that aligns with our school's values and mission
- Design and deliver engaging chess lessons and activities that cater to students of different skill levels
- Create opportunities for students to participate in intra-school and inter-school chess tournaments
- Foster a culture of sportsmanship, respect, and fair play among students and parents
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate chess with other subjects and activities
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive chess curriculum that meets the needs of our students
- Evaluate and assess student progress in chess and provide constructive feedback
- Develop and manage a chess budget that ensures effective use of resources
Eligibility
To be eligible for this role, you'll need to have the following qualifications and experience:
- Postgraduate degree in any field (M.A., M.Sc., M.Ed., or MBA)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field (coaching, sports management, or education)
- Strong knowledge of chess strategies, rules, and principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with the State Board of West Bengal curriculum is an asset
