PRT Music Teacher Job in Howrah, West Bengal
Role Summary
As a senior PRT Music Teacher or potential Head of Department at St. Xavier's Academy in Bally Jagachha, Howrah, West Bengal, you will lead the Music department, drive academic excellence, and play a vital role in shaping the next generation of musicians. Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum ownership: Develop and implement Music curriculum for St. Xavier's Academy, ensuring alignment with the State Board of West Bengal's requirements.
2. Mentoring junior staff: Provide guidance and support to junior teachers, helping them to develop their Music teaching skills and confidence.
3. Board results: Analyze and interpret Music board results, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance student performance.
4. Lesson planning: Develop and deliver engaging Music lessons, incorporating a range of teaching methods and technologies.
5. Parent-teacher communication: Maintain open communication with parents, keeping them informed about their child's Music progress and achievements.
6. Music events: Organize and coordinate Music events, such as concerts and recitals, to showcase student talent and promote Music appreciation.
7. Music resources: Manage Music resources, including textbooks, instruments, and equipment, ensuring they are accessible and well-maintained.
8. Staff development: Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver staff training and development programs, focusing on Music teaching and leadership.
9. Departmental leadership: Contribute to the development of the Music department, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives.
Eligibility
To be considered for this senior role, you will typically hold a postgraduate qualification in Music or a related field, such as an M.A. or M.Sc. in Music. A B.Ed. degree is also essential, with a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience. Holding a NET or SET qualification is preferred, but not essential.
