PRT Music Teacher Job in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal | School Recruitment
Don Bosco School | Odlabari invites applications for a dedicated PRT Music Teacher to enhance the school’s vibrant cultural and artistic environment. This role focuses on nurturing young minds through engaging music lessons, fostering creativity, and aligning with the school’s holistic education philosophy. Based in Mal, Jalpaiguri, the position offers a dynamic setting where music education plays a key role in shaping students’ emotional and intellectual growth.
Daily Responsibilities
Plan and conduct daily music classes for students, ensuring age-appropriate activities that blend theory and practical performance. Prepare simple yet effective lesson plans that incorporate local folk instruments and traditional songs to connect with students. Maintain a structured yet flexible approach to teaching, adapting to varying student abilities and interests. Conduct short, interactive sessions that encourage participation, including group singing, rhythm exercises, and basic instrument handling.
Regular Responsibilities Across the Academic Cycle
Collaborate with the school’s music committee to organize weekly cultural programs, including school fests and inter-house competitions. Participate in school events such as music recitals, Christmas concerts, and Diwali celebrations to showcase student talent. Develop and review music curriculum materials, ensuring alignment with the school’s educational goals and state syllabus guidelines. Attend regular teacher meetings to discuss music pedagogy and share best practices with fellow educators.
Periodic Responsibilities
Assist in organizing annual music festivals and performances, including rehearsals and final preparations. Conduct periodic assessments of students’ musical progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement. Ensure all musical equipment, including instruments and audio-visual aids, is well-maintained and available for use in lessons.
Qualification and Experience
Hold a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree with a minimum of two years of teaching experience in a school setting. Possession of TET/CTET certification is highly preferred. A strong background in music theory, vocal, and instrumental performance is essential. Familiarity with modern teaching methods and engagement strategies for diverse student groups is a must.
Salary and Location
The selected candidate will be offered a competitive salary of Rs.16,000 - Rs.30,000 per month, along with other benefits as per school policy. The position is based in Mal, Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, with the opportunity to contribute to Don Bosco School | Odlabari’s rich cultural heritage.
