Job Overview
As a highly experienced and senior Mathematics educator, we invite applications for the position of PGT Mathematics Teacher in Narayana School, located in Amherst Street, Kolkata, West Bengal. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective Mathematics curricula for senior secondary students, ensuring alignment with the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education syllabus.
- Take ownership of the Mathematics department, providing leadership and guidance to junior staff members.
- Prepare students for Mathematics exams, ensuring excellent board results and academic performance.
- Develop and maintain Mathematics resources, including lesson plans, worksheets, and assessments.
- Collaborate with other subject teachers to ensure interdisciplinary learning and academic coherence.
- Provide guidance and support to students, helping them to achieve their academic goals and aspirations.
- Conduct regular assessments to evaluate student progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student engagement and motivation in Mathematics classes.
- Stay up-to-date with current developments in Mathematics education and apply this knowledge to teaching practices.
- Participate in school-wide events and activities, including parent-teacher meetings and Mathematics fairs.
Eligibility
- Postgraduate degree in Mathematics or a related field (M.Sc. or M.A.)
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or Master of Education (M.Ed.)
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in Mathematics, preferably in a senior secondary school setting
- Strong knowledge of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education syllabus and Mathematics curriculum
- NET or SET qualification is preferred, but not essential
