PGT Physical Education Teacher Position at Ruby Park Public School, Kolkata

Daily Responsibilities
Plan and conduct daily physical education classes, ensuring age-appropriate activities that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and discipline. Monitor student participation, provide constructive feedback, and maintain a safe and inclusive sports environment. Organize morning or after-school sports sessions to encourage extracurricular engagement. Prepare and maintain equipment inventory, ensuring all sports gear is well-maintained and accessible.
Regular Responsibilities Across the Academic Cycle
Develop and implement the school’s annual Physical Education curriculum, integrating national and state-level standards. Collaborate with the principal and other faculty to assess student performance in sports and fitness, documenting progress in annual reports. Represent the school in inter-house or inter-school sports events, acting as a coach or official when needed. Advise students on nutrition, hydration, and injury prevention, linking physical health to academic success.
Periodic Responsibilities
Conduct termly evaluations of sports programs, identifying strengths and areas for improvement. Organize annual sports festivals or competitions, including planning logistics, recruitment of volunteers, and budget management. Participate in school-level training sessions or workshops to enhance teaching methods in physical education.
Qualifications and Experience
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or a related field, along with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification. Four years of teaching experience in Physical Education at the secondary level is mandatory. Experience in curriculum development, sports coaching, or administrative roles in schools is highly valued. A TET or CTET certificate is preferred but not mandatory.
