Design and implement sports programs aligned with school curriculum while ensuring student safety and adherence to local rules. Organize inter-house competitions and extracurricular sports events, promoting fair play and team spirit. Develop and maintain school infrastructure for sports facilities, including courts, tracks, and equipment storage. Collaborate with school management to secure partnerships with local clubs or sports academies for training programs. Lead sports-related parent-teacher meetings to discuss student progress and community involvement. Ensure compliance with school policies on discipline and conduct during sports activities. Train and supervise sports teams, including coaching basics for younger students. Represent St Johns High School at regional sports events and networking opportunities.
Must have a postgraduate degree in Physical Education or related field with at least two years of experience in sports administration or management. Should hold a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification. Experience in school sports coordination and leadership roles is essential. Ability to work with diverse student groups and communicate effectively with parents and staff. Strong organizational skills and knowledge of local sports regulations beneficial. Familiarity with school management software for event tracking and reporting preferred.
Proven ability to motivate teams and foster a positive sports environment. Experience in designing and executing sports programs for schools. Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships across all stakeholders. Knowledge of first aid and emergency protocols for sports-related injuries advantageous. Physical stamina and ability to manage large groups of students during events.
