A PRT Music Teacher at Lakshmipat Singhania Academy engages students in daily music lessons, guiding them through instrumental practice, vocal techniques, and rhythmic exercises that build foundational skills and creative expression.
Scope of the role
The teacher manages a dynamic music classroom, coordinating ensemble rehearsals, solo performances, and music appreciation sessions. Responsibilities include arranging practice schedules, maintaining instrument inventory, and collaborating with other teachers to integrate music into interdisciplinary projects.
Core academic duties
Deliver structured music lessons to classes in Kankurgachi, Kolkata, covering theory, harmony, and performance. Facilitate group and individual instruction, conduct music workshops, and support students in preparing for school concerts and external competitions. Encourage participation in school cultural events and maintain a positive learning environment.
Assessment and planning duties
Design periodic assessments to gauge students’ progress in sight‑reading, ear training, and performance skills. Prepare lesson plans aligned with the school curriculum, incorporating local musical traditions where relevant. Track attendance, attendance of practice hours, and provide feedback to students and parents.
Qualification and experience
Graduate degree required; B.Ed or D.El.Ed preferred for teaching positions. A minimum of 2 years teaching experience is expected. TET/CTET qualifications are not mandatory but considered an advantage. Candidates should possess strong musical skills and the ability to inspire students.
Salary and location
