Gayeshbari Bright Institute in Malda seeks a dedicated PGT Economics Teacher to guide high school students through advanced economic concepts. This role requires expertise in shaping young minds with a strong foundation in macro and microeconomics, alongside real-world applications.
You will design and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with the West Bengal curriculum, ensuring clarity and depth in topics like national income, monetary policy, and market economics. Classroom instruction should encourage critical thinking, case studies, and interactive discussions to bridge theory with practical scenarios. Regular assessments will include quizzes, projects, and exams to evaluate student understanding, with adjustments made based on performance trends.
Teaching at the senior level demands a balance between theoretical rigor and contemporary economic issues, including global trade, inflation, and sustainable development. Collaborate with the faculty to integrate interdisciplinary connections, such as economics in social sciences or business studies, to broaden students’ perspectives. Maintain a supportive yet structured environment where students feel empowered to explore economic dilemmas and debate solutions.
Engage with parents and school authorities to discuss student progress, ensuring transparency in academic and behavioral development. Attend departmental meetings to refine teaching strategies and stay updated on curriculum changes. Organize workshops or guest lectures with industry experts to expose students to real-world economic challenges.
Prepare and maintain comprehensive lesson notes, syllabus updates, and teaching resources that reflect evolving economic theories. Act as a mentor to junior teachers, offering guidance on pedagogy and subject-specific best practices. Ensure compliance with school policies on attendance, discipline, and professional conduct while fostering a culture of continuous learning.
A postgraduate degree in Economics with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification is essential. At least two years of teaching experience, preferably in senior secondary economics, is required. While TET/CTET certification is preferred, it is not mandatory for this role. The position offers a competitive salary of Rs. 37,000 to Rs. 60,000 per month, with the opportunity to contribute to shaping future economists in Malda.
